Current Needs: Arthritis Foundation Books currently need writers with extensive health and/or book writing experience to research and write book manuscripts (as much as 50,000 words in length) on health-related topics. In addition, we need experienced proofreaders and copy editors to review manuscripts on a contract basis. (An advance is part of the royalty arrangement - monies that will come to the writer if the book sells.) Projects range from 40,000-60,000 words for a book ms. Submit resume, clips, and bio by mail only with SASE.
welcomes new writers
Pay: Flat fee payments or advances for writing a full-length book ms (assuming the finished product is published) fall in the $7,500-$10,000 range.
Hints: "Writers should research our publications before submitting any resumes or queries. We are searching for writers with health writing experience and, ideally, book experience or experience in long-term projects that require project management. Our projects are very long-lead, and we need to know we can depend on a contracted writer to see the project through.
