Hints: The most common mistake--and every editor at every travel magazine will agree with me on this - is to think that just because you're going somewhere, you should let us know. ('I'm going to Vietnam. Do you need anything?') We need story ideas, something beyond a beautiful or interesting place. News is ideal, but any good angle will do. We don't run many travelogues or any essays; we're all about service. If you're going to pitch us, pay us the respect of at least having read the magazine.
