75% freelance. Broker Agent Magazine is a regional trade journal produced by Sundance Press and written for brokers, Realtors and affiliated professionals. Prefers experienced writers with degrees. Circ. 5K+. Monthly. Pays on publication. Publishes ms 1 - 2 months after acceptance. Buys all rights. No reprints. Responds up to one week. Sample on request by email or mail. Subscription free to members of professional trade associations. Guidelines are not available at this time.
Current Needs: I'm looking for writers who can produce a feature and/or hard news story once a month. Only experienced writers with degrees need apply. Looking for Virginia-based or local candidates ONLY. Metro Richmond (VA) area and Southside (Colonial Heights/Petersburg) preferred. No manuscripts accepted. Assignments only given to freelance writers who have shared their resume, clips, and references. All freelance writers hired will be interviewed by the publisher prior to receiving assignments.
Pay: Pays flat fee of $150 per story of 400 - 800 words.
Hints: The most common misconception people have is that this magazine is about real estate alone. It's written for that group of professionals, but they often need tips on sales and marketing, technology, networking, etc.
