80% freelance. Field Trial Magazine is a quarterly publication dedicated to the sport of competing with bird dogs. We publish articles about the people, places, dogs and history of the sport. We also feature articles about training and current veterinary issues. Welcomes new writers. Circ 5K. Quarterly. Pays on publication. Publishes ms 3 - 6 months after acceptance. Buys FNASR. Hints: The most common mistake writers make is to submit articles that lack a field trial hook. We are not a hunting magazine or a general pet publication. It is much more important to us that we get interesting and useful information for our readers. We are always willing to work with a writer who provides us with the content we want even though they may not be as polished as we would like.
