50% freelance. FW provides people in their twenties and thirties with the ideas, the tools and the know-how to really live the life they want to be living. Whether you aspire to be a Hollywood starlet or a corporate executive, FW wants to help you achieve those goals by providing you with the goods you'll need to make your dreams become a reality. FW exists to cultivate your interests, help you explore new things and follow you along the path to living the life you were born to live. And when the hard work pays off, and those dreams become reality, we want to be there to celebrate your achievements because that's really what it's all about. Occasionally accepts reprints. Current Needs: FEATURES. Note: this is what we really want and FW buys many of these stories. These are the stories about the people aged 24-35 behind the trends, products, events, and news that everyone is talking about. Who are they? Where did they come from? What obstacles did they overcome to get to where they are? What are they like now that they've made it? How has their life changed? What makes them unique? Fees negotiated on a per article basis ranging from $0.10-$1.00/word. More in some cases. Articles run 300-2000 words. Submit query by email. All submissions must include: 1. Category for submission; 2. A working title; 3. An introduction that includes the subject and size of the story, the story's significance to FW readers, and a brief description of the person being featured, including what they did to realize their dream and what kind of life they are living now; 4. Author's name and contact information; 5. Published clippings relevant to the kind of story being pitched; 6. Subject availability for photos.

Hints: FW does not accept first person or column style features. Due to the large amount of queries we receive, we cannot personally respond to everyone. We will contact you for more information if we are interested. Payment is made on a flat fee basis and will be negotiated upon acceptance of proposal. FW uses the Associated Press Style Guide in our editorial process and your submissions should adhere to those guidelines. Writers are entirely responsible for submitting original work/ideas and for the accuracy of all material submitted. Please note that we have several writers working under contract and they may be working on ideas similar to yours. FW is not responsible for these coincidences.
