90% freelance. HealthWorlds is a medical science and health magazine, but written in a readable, lifestyle format. Target audience includes all health professionals, specialists, as well as individuals interested in the subject of health and /or current research and news being done in medical sciences. Welcomes new writers. Circ. first edition 5000 in Malaysia/Singapore/Australia - by third edition, 15,000 for Asia Pacific. Quarterly with future possibility of 6 issues per year. Pays on publication. Period between acceptance and publication varies. Rights purchased vary. Accepts reprints, but usually require some alterations. Usually responds in a day or two. Sample available on request; sample pdf file can be downloaded from the website. Subscription $50(US). Guidelines available as a pdf file on request.
Current Needs: Queries. Each edition will have a selection of topics. This can be seen on the website or is offered on request. A mass mailing may be sent to the writers in our databank and it is up to them to submit their skeleton outline as to how they would tackle the chosen topic. Submit query, CV (resume), three writing samples and your expected fee via email.

Pay: Pays negotiable market rates depending on the writer's country of origin. Quote your fee when querying. Articles average 500-1500 words.
Hints: Please send a skeleton (outline) or summary (query), or a list of points on how you would tackle the subject matter (i.e. using a personal touch, drawing from experience, or more technical reporter-style), and how you would build up the piece. This saves misunderstandings from both sides.
