80% freelance. Healthy Living Today is a new website scheduled to debut in January 2004. We are seeking contributions for the four main channels on our site: Healthy Travel & staying healthy while traveling, destination spas and resorts, adventure travel, and ecotourism; Healthy Eating & organic and natural foods, nutrition (based on sound scientific data, not fads), healthy restaurant eating, and healthy cooking (including recipes); Healthy Home & natural home and yard care, raising healthy kids and pets, environmentally-friendly homes; Healthy You & fitness and relaxation, home spa, natural personal care and cosmetics. Our style is informal, yet informative. We approach the topic of healthy living from a mainstream point of view. In addition, we're service-oriented and publish features that tell readers how and where to do something (no first-person essays or personal travelogues). We are happy to work with talented new writers who are knowledgeable about some aspect of healthy living. Circ. will be available after site launch. Weekly. Pays on acceptance. Current Needs: We welcome ideas in all areas, but are particularly looking for contributions for the following: Healthy Home channel - we receive few queries for this channel and are open to some innovative ideas in this area; Healthy Cooking and Eating Right features - Healthy Cooking focuses on a particular cuisine (such as Healthy Cooking, Italian Style) and includes several recipes. Eating Right provides a roundup of healthy restaurant reviews for a particular city (such as Eating Right in San Francisco); Photo Gallery - these travel features emphasize outstanding photography on a destination of great natural beauty and they include multiple photos with a minimum of text. We are also looking for a licensed esthetician to write a series on healthy skin care and an expert in environmentally-friendly housing to write some features on this topic. Pays $10/article, extra for photos. We hope to adjust our pay scale after site launch. Articles average 750-1000 words (flexible).
