Pay: Pays up to $25 depending on experience and assignment for 800-1200 words.
Hints: Common mistakes include sending a query that is outside of our geographical focus; sending a piece that does not focus on the positives in Ohio; sending a piece that is too long. Study the magazine carefully, including the editor's letter and advertisements. Request our writer's guidelines and writer's tips, and then brainstorm an idea for the magazine. Craft a query that targets our tone and geographical area. Include appropriate clips. If you don't hear back within 6 weeks, call and inquire.
Photos/Art: We generally purchase 35mm slides, in color. Pays $25-$100 per photo, depending upon published size.
