Hints: Life during email has sped up the process of contacting an editor. It hasn't had any corresponding lessening of an editor's workload. Writers who submit a piece (or a query) then start pestering us for an answer within two or three days (not to mention those two-to-three-hour types!) show a disregard (or misunderstanding) for the editorial process. This doesn't make our editors smile! Give us a week before you send us a 'did you get my previous email?' email.
