Pay: Pays flat fee of $50 - $200 for 1000-5000 words.
Hints: Do not fax mss. Send good photos and take a fresh approach. Create a professional yet friendly article. Send diagrams, maps and photos of unique details, if needed. In interviews, we are more concerned with 'words of wisdom' they can impart, rather than a list of their accomplishments. Reloading articles must include source information and backup data. If it's not about shotguns or shotgunners, don't send it. If you can't think of a fresh approach, don't bother. Check your facts and data! Never say: 'You don't need to check my data; I never make mistakes.' We will find your mistakes (or our readers will)!
Photos/Art: 5x7 or 8x10 B&W or 4-color with appropriate captions; On disk or e-mailed at least 5 inches and 300 dpi (contact our graphic artist for details). Transparencies: 35 mm or larger, B&W or 4-color.
