Current Needs: Gospel (1,000-1,200 word articles on salvation by faith, how to cultivate a devotional life - Bible study, meditation, prayer, how to experience victory over temptation and sin, how to trust God in trial, etc.). Christian Lifestyle (1,000-1,200 word articles of practical problems in everyday life from a biblical and Christian perspective). First-person (stories of 1,000 words that illuminate a spiritual or moral truth that the individual in the story learned. We especially like stories that hold the reader in suspense or that have an unusual twist at the end.). One-page fillers (short articles of 500-700 words can be inspirational/devotional, Christian lifestyle, stories, comments that illuminate a biblical text-in short, anything that might fit in a general Christian magazine). Pay: Pays $0.10-0.20/word.
Hints: A mistake is sending us biblical and doctrinal articles when the writer hasn't a clue what the Seventh-day Adventist Church teaches in the area on which he or she is writing. Doctrinal issues can make an article completely unacceptable, or if the article as a whole is acceptable, it may require revision. It is not necessary to be a Seventh-day Adventist in order to be published in Signs of the Times. However, you may find it helpful to know something about our beliefs, which we will be glad to share with you in a booklet called Let's Get Acquainted, available free on request. Please include a 6.5 x 9.5 inch SASE with two first class stamps. Any time you can provide us with one or more sidebars that add information to the topic of your article, you enhance your chance of getting our attention.
Photos/Art: Unless there is a photo specific to the article, we will make our own art and photography arrangements. We will pay an author for photos when we use what he or she provides. Pay for photos is negotiable.
