100% freelance. The Atlasphere is a website geared toward admirers of Ayn Rand's fiction. We offer a networking directory, personal ads, columns, and host the Ayn Rand meta-blog. Welcomes new writers. Circ. 3500 registered members + more non-members who just read the columns. Publishes 1-2 columns per week. Pays end of month of publication via Paypal. Publishes ms usually within a few weeks of acceptance. Writer retains rights to the piece. We allow reprints after a 3-month period as long as the Atlasphere is credited as the original publication. Occasionally accepts reprints--prior publication in a personal blog is fine. Responds 1-3 days. Sample articles appear online. Subscription free, $25/year for full use of the networking/personals directory. Current Needs: We have an ongoing need for fresh, insightful articles including, but not limited to, subjects like travel, personal growth, science/technology, music/book/movie reviews, careers, relationships, humor, food, economics, social/cultural criticism, interviews, and short fiction. Prior to publication, we need a headshot of the writer and a brief bio. Submit query by email. Photo and bio can be included at the time of submission or sent after the article is accepted for publication.

Pay: Pays $25 for articles; $40 for interviews. Articles and interviews run 800-2400 words, but we will serialize a great piece.
Hints: Our website is geared toward admirers of Ayn Rand's fiction, thus submissions should reflect an understanding of her themes, philosophy, and sense of life. If you aren't familiar with her fiction, peruse the previously published columns to get a feel for what we'll publish.
