HINTS: Common Mistake - "They call and call and call and if I am in the middle of deadline and am not immediately available, they pester the receptionist as if she has not given me the message. It is much better to submit something via email as I almost always have access to that and it sometimes is easier to just send a quick reply/acknowledgement and that I will get back to them at such-and-such a time. Advice-wise, I would say if you are going to submit a resume, writing samples - and later stories - PLEASE proofread your work for spelling and grammatical errors. That is the first impression I get and if you cannot even spell a person's name correctly or check over your work, it is a strong indication of how much editing I am going to have to do before I even get to the more important part of the content."
