Response WritersWeekly received to its inquires into the matter:
Freelance Work Exchange is committed to the highest standards of customer service. Any member with a query can contact me, Rob Palmer, at rob@freelanceworkexchange.com and I will personally guarantee to resolve the issue as soon as possible. The number and nature of job postings listed on our site will naturally vary, but on average we provide members with a steady stream of high-quality project leads. We are dedicated to doing everything we can to help freelancers build successful careers.
UPDATE - 08/22/01:
Hi Angela
Further to our discussions a few weeks ago, I can confirm that (your freelancer) has received a full refund for the outstanding amount, plus an amount to cover lost interest.
We have also switched to a new payment processor (iBill), which means that we can now process refunds and cancellations ourselves, rather than having to refer people back to a third party.
As we have addressed the concerns you raised, and are committed to resolving any issues that members have, would you please remove the relevant warning from your site, as this is not a reflection of the true situation.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
Rob Palmer
WRITERSWEEKLY.COM COMMENT: If a firm lets a situation get to the point where WritersWeekly.com has to intervene, we must leave them on our warnings page. This situation could have easily been rectified by Freelance Work Exchange months ago.
RESPONSE FROM OUR FREELANCER: Wanna hear something funny? He sent me an international money order for $25 and it costs $15 to cash it! I can't win!
